Day 99 Sunday, September 29th Solar Panel installation

Dawson and Ralph in the cool morning, solar installation
Another beautiful day in paradise.  Today's job is to install the new Solar panels.  Dawson has lined up Mike and Ralph to join in on the fun which leaves Julie to blog and cook for the workers.  A much preferred job for Julie.  Julie has an attitude problem when it comes to repairs and can make an already not fun job into a down right miserable experience.

Warmer part of day still installing solar panels
Soon the sun is hot as any July day and makes any job into fun.  Lots of people cruising the docks to say hello to.  We have met a few new boats here in Little Falls.  We are all in the same situation which seems to bond us.  One interesting couple is just setting out after being on dry land for 14 years.  They previously had lived on their boat for 18 years and raised 4 kids on their boat until they reached the teen years, when they decided to go landside for the 14 years.  I am sure Lucy and John will be able to share lots of knowledge and regale many stories to us as we await our departure.

The installation is all but complete.  Mike helps Dawson find the cause of the blown fuses.  Turns out to be a faulty diode.  Now to get a new diode....

Julie busies herself feeding the group lunch and then making some chicken curry for a dinner party.  We are hosting Mike, Annette and Ralph for dinner tonight partly as a Thank you for your help and partly cause that just what cruisers do as our boating friends know.

Tom and Chris-hosts of the marina
Chris from Little Falls finds us tables and chairs so that we have an outdoor patio beside the boat.  Tonight it is a gathering spot for happy hour.  Jack and Dave join us from the other sailboat that is here along the dock.  Earlier they had strolled into town and grabbed us some bread from the bakery which was wonderful.  There is also a powerboat tied up here and Dennis and ___ also joined in as well as Lucy and John from the lower locks.

After our curry dinner we played some pigs, then watched a movie.

Cheers
Julie and Dawson
