Day 317, Monday May 5th, Cinqo de Mayo!
Well today is a work day.
We are cleaning like fiends, well..... paced fiends anyways. Dawson is cleaning in the bowels of the boat
and Julie is focusing on wood and fibreglass inside the boat. Julie’s biggest dirt find was the louvered
slats on the cabin doors. Wow, has dust
collected there!

First we headed in to the commercial area to pick up a few
items such as damp rid, vinegar, laundry soap.
It is just a 15 minute walk so we are back in about 45 minutes ready to
start cleaning and doing laundry. It is
a beautiful sunny day so we pace ourselves.
We also start tossing a few items we don’t need. Because we are leaving the boat for a few
days, we have eaten down our inventory, and it is also time to remove unused
items from the boat. More signs of the
end to our adventure.

Before we know it, happy hour is upon us, time for packing
and dinner. We make dinner out of the
last of the ingredients that will not keep while we are away. It is a Carbonaro style pasta and is quite good.
A few games of King’s cribbage and off to bed, dreaming of
airplanes.
