Day 165, Wednesday December 4, A day of Snorkeling The day begins with a bright sky and a cup of coffee. We listen to the weather via the SSB just to make sure there are no changes from yesterday. The weather is to be very settled for the next 5 days with steady winds from the east and clear skies, we are very happy. It is interesting listening in as we are listening to Chris Parker who does weather routing for cruising the Caribbean so he always get some SSB calls asking for specific passages. We decide that we will change anchorages so we do the shuffle over to Fisher Bay by 9. Enroute we spot either a dolphin or a shark about 30 feet away. It looked more like a dolphin but there was only 1 so we questioned our siting. It was quite dark also, almost black. Once we are settled in our new spot Julie does some fishing, catching a small fish which we throw back. By 11:30 we have had lunch and are confident in our anchoring so we head to shore. Plan today is to do some snorkeling along the Atlantic Beach while the ocean is calm. We had talked to some of the locals who told us just to head out anytime, so off we go. We do a set of three snorkels seeing some good sites. It does not compare to the snorkeling we had done up at Manjack Cay early. We plan our snorkels well and finish in front of Nippers Beach Bar so that we can wash the salt out with a drink. From Nippers we head back to the dinghy, and head over to a nearby beach to wash the bar-b-que grill. On the way over the outboard coughs a few times so Dawson takes the opportunity to clean the fuel filter out. On our way back to the boat we spot a large turtle in about 3 feet of water. This is our first close turtle siting. We are back on board from our adventures by 3:30 and take some R and R time. Julie ensures it is quality time by setting up her hammock chair. We watch a lovely sunset, enjoy an excellent dinner, have a game of cards and off to bed. Cheers Dawson and Julie
