Day 224, Saturday Feb. 1 2014

Well one thing we found out during the night was that the anchorage at Monument Beach provides more protection.  The night saw us having a fair bit of motion as the winds are just south of east allowing some waves to build up in the sound, but we are close to the main activities at the retirement settlement (volleyball beach).

We spend the morning enjoying our coffee.  Just before noon Julie makes some bread dough, part for a loaf of cranberry bread and part for use in our dinner meal of krout burgers.  The Krout burgers are a specialty of Lynette, Marcene's sister, so to make sure we are making them right Marcene gives her a call.  You have to appreciate cell phones.

After lunch we head into volleyball beach to play volley ball.  George Town is really a boaters retirement community with many people coming to spend four months here.      With people spending the whole season here in George Town they have established things to do, volley ball, basket weaving , bridge lessons etc.  it is comparable to a retirement community in Florida just that every body lives on a boat.

Volley ball is fun, very low key with minimum rules, you just have get the ball over the net without it hitting the ground.  They have also established safety rules like you have to yell services when serving so people pay attention.  After an exciting day of beach volley ball we head back to the boat.

Back on board we find that Julie's bread dough has become a blob which has escaped its bread pan and was trying to eat the IPad.  Julie swiftly deals with it and sticks it in the oven.  We enjoy our sundowners and have an excellent meal of krout burgers.  We finish the day off with a coffee and a game of dominos.

Cheers
Dawson and Julie
