Day 26 Bye Bye B.C.

Well today was a travel day and we were again given a nice day for a drive.  We left Merritt just before 9 got to Kamloops and picked up our Typhoid and Hep A and B needles to complete our medical needs for Peru.  We then headed on back on the road for Jasper sad to leave British Columbia.  We were surprised at the landscape around Kamloops, more like foothills and lots of dead trees.  Lots of shopping..  We now both have BC care cards (Alberta would have ben better).

Hwy 16 to Jasper
The drive through to Jasper was great with good roads and great views all the way.  Lots of snowmobile tourism, but not much winter hiking.  We were a bit disappointed at the lack of ability to hike any of the summer trails.  Nowhere to pull over and head out with our snowshoes on the summer trails, so we just kept driving and got very little exercise today.

It is the first time either of us has been Jasper and is a neat place to see we are thinking of coming back here to check it out during the summer.  It is really quite dead here in the winter.  No problems getting last minute accomodations.

Our hotel is not fancy, but the room is huge, and there is a nice hot tub area and free wi fi and parking so it meets our needs.
Cheers Dawson and Julie
