Day 29 -A day of sports

Today the day started at the Bailey household.  We spent a leisurely morning with Dawson going for a 5km run and Julie lazing about.  Soon we had to give each other our twinrix vaccine which was exciting.  We watched a you tube video on intramuscular injections and then proceeded.  Quite a hoot, but we figure we need to be able to provide some basic medical for each other when boating so braved poking each other in the arm.  It went quite well.  We have recently had Hep shots, yellow fever shots, and are on typhoid meds.  Fortunately most of these preventive shots and pills last a long time so future travel in weird locations will not feel so daring.  We also watched a video on our camera and learned how to put our camera on raw photos.  Unfortunately we don't have the software to open raw photos so today we have only 1 photo taken on the blackberry.

By noon we were ready to go and realized the track meet did not start until 4:30 so we decided to go to the Briar.  Tickets were easy to get as the venue is the Oilers Hockey venue so very large.  We got to watch a couple of good games specifically Northern Ontario who won and we cheered for during the match against New Brunswick.  Gushue was playing Quebec which was also a good game which Gushue won.

At the 2013 Briar in Edmonton
We then rushed to see day 2 of the CIS meet (day 1 for us).  Ross ran the 3000m race and Heather (Ross's girlfriend) qualified then ran the finals of the 4X200m.  Ross got a bronze which he was very happy about as his training has been minimal due to a tendon injury.  Heather's race was also excellent.  They did not make the podium however got the team points which was great.
