Day 226, Feb 3rd Monday – another day in George Town
Well another day in George Town. The day starts out as they all do fresh
ground coffee in the cockpit. The plan
for the day is for yoga for Julie and Marcene and a run for Dawson on the beach
followed by a lunch talk about Single Sideband radios.
We head off to our respective activities and get our day
going. Julie and Marcene are quite
pleased with the yoga being given on the beach and Dawson is quite please with
the run he has discovered. Yoga starts
at 9 so it gets us moving early. Yoga is
on the volleyball beach and this is the starting point for Dawson’s run. The run is about 8 km in length but has a
interesting access trail to the start and finish. Leaving Volleyball beach it is about a 1 km
hike which features a walk along the shore of one of lagoons on Stocking
Island, a wade across the inlet to another hole and a hike from the west side
of Stocking Island to the beach on the east side. The wade back is fantastic after the 45
minuet run along the beach.
We get back to the boat and then head into the St Francis resort
for the lunch and talk. Talk was on
single side band radios so it is somewhat interesting. We meet Colleen and Gord from Changes in Latitude
for lunch so it is not only a learning time but a social as well.
After lunch Julie and Marcene take the kayaks for a paddle
around the lagoons, called holes, and then head over to Volleyball beach for
some bridge. Dawson spends the afternoon
testing the radio on Jazzebelle as we have had a couple of people tell us we
are weak when we transmit. Dawson had
borrowed a SWR from one of the other cruisers.
The radio checks out fine. Dawson
then heads to the beach and joins in a game of volley ball. A fun filled afternoon by all.
Back on board we enjoy a game of Dominos with our sundowners
and an excellent dinner prepared by Julie once again. Dinner was followed by coffee and a couple
more games of Dominos and then bed.
Cheers
Dawson and Julie
